In her artistic work Marie Pierre attempts to show the relationship between movement and equilibrium. Her sculptures are often anthropomorphic but they are also inspired by the world of plants and animals. She works mostly and preferably with wood as she is generally fascinated by nature.
Since quite some time she produces wood sculptures which consequently she casts in bronze artificial ceramics or tin. She also likes to work with alabaster.
The human figure in her long series of „Armee des Ombres“ was inspired by the book with the same title by Joseph Kessel about the die French Resistance in World War II.
Lately she is also using waste resulting from chainsaw jobs. She assembles these wood pieces to construct new objects. As the structure of these pieces is often quite interesting she has also made negatives from them in silicone which she then casts in tin. She also makes bas reliefs in tin.
The horrible madness of today’s world Middle East Hunger in many parts of the world financial crisis etc. has inspired Marie Pierre to other works called „The Human Madness“.
